Concept study 'illustrates the possibility of doubling the population of Darby by 200,000. The vision is to add an extension to the city no more than 10km, which is 20mins tram ride

Our argument is rather than nibbling at the fields that surround the city and all the satellite villages, we should take a bite of the green belt and create a sustainable urban extension that can support a range of services and associate facilities.

The land chosen connect to segurated urban growth areas and fields that was not accessible to the public and had little ecological value. Only the river and its flood plain which flowed through the site helped to create the central park and leisure spaces.
