URJUAN MASTER PLAN : AL KHOR, QATAR

Urjuan is intended to be the new economic generator for the town of Al Khor, Qatar. The master plan resides around a historic fishing and maritime community and will celebrates the attributes of the natural environment and sensitively created the new town development as an important urban amenity. When completed, the Urjuan development will be home to over 63,000 residents and will have over 24,500 housing units, a hotel, resort, private beach front chalets, a golf course, townhouses and apartments.
Five main factors have been brought together, the potential for tourism attraction and promotion; benchmarking for sustainable development; conservation of the natural habitat; quality of the living environment and marketability. The Urjuan development will provide a wide choice of experiences in terms of living, density, recreation and shopping, through the range and variety of its buildings and public realm.
