BOMONTI : ISTANBUL, TURKEY
Concept design study of a mixed use tall buildings. Located on top of a hill in Sisli, Istanbul, the site includes the listed Bomonti brewery, the first brewery in the country. The design integrated the listed building into the wider master plan and thus the surrounding context.
The concept draw inspiration from Whirling Dervishes and the distinctive Bomonti beer bottles shape - a memory of the sites use.
The design incorporated the principals of 'vertical urbanism’, the creation of neighbourhood, leisure and public amenities and open spaces within the tall buildings. The upper levels would incorporate viewing galleries, which offered panoramic views of the city.
